EDUCATION RESOURCES

We are happy to offer access to lesson plans developed through our VEEP program with pre-service teachers at The University of Louisiana at Lafayette College of Education. These plans are based on the history and cultures of our village and are aligned with grade level expectations and standards, many offering pre and post visit lesson reinforcement activities as well. We also offer connections to other lesson plans, primary sources and education resources that you may find useful and engaging for your students.

As we continue to work on our education initiative, we will begin to develop lesson plans based on our seasonal programs. They will be posted to our website in the near future.

When you’re ready to book a visit with us, please inform the tour coordinator which lesson you’ll be conducting for your anchor activity. Please call Melanie Harrington, Education Coordinator, 337.233.4077 etx. 206 or e-mail Education@BayouVermilionDistrict.org if you would like to find out more about our lesson plans and our overall initiative. We also have a booking inquiry form that you can fill out with your plans by clicking here ; our tour coordinator will contact you to tailor a customized visit for your group.
