The community is invited to join the Bayou Vermilion District’s Vermilionville to celebrate our annual Acadian Culture Day on Sunday, August 11th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Join us for a family-friendly day of live music, great food, art, cooking, storytelling, spinning and weaving, arts and crafts, and other demonstrations. Here are some of the highlights you can expect: Quilting & Spinning Dance Lessons The storytelling of Cajun music Basket weaving Coton Jaune documentary Boucherie: An Edible Spectacle documentary The Tintamarre Parade Cooking Demonstrations Local Artist Demonstrations The Acadian Cultural Preservation Award Live Cajun Music all day the art of Cayla Zeek of Mattea Studio Food and beverage available for purchase.
