Les Mains Guidées: Re-usable Beeswax Wraps
VermilionvilleBayou Vermilion District and Vermilionville hosts a monthly workshop series that allows you to learn crafts from our master artisans. At the beginning of each month we highlight a different craft from the old Acadian, Creole, and Native American ways of life. Even if you'd simply like to come and watch the class as an observer only, not taking a direct part in the workshop, we've got a spot for you! During April's Les Main’s Guidées, as part of the Bayou Vermilion District's Earth MONTH celebration, we'll have one of Vermilionville's favorite artists come and teach how to make re-usable beeswax wraps, which are a great resource in reducing single-use plastic waste! Mimi R. DelGizzi recently moved to Lafayette, LA to be closer to family and explore her Acadian heritage. Previously, she lived in Boston, Massachusetts where she received dual masters degrees in Food Policy as well as Public Health with a focus on community nutrition. Mimi teaches courses on healthy eating, fermentation, beer and wine brewing, yogurt- and cheese-making, and has led workshops in wellness, meditation, and mindfulness.
