Créole Culture Day Celebration

The public can enjoy a FREE FESTIVAL at Vermilionville for the 22nd annual Créole Culture Celebration on Sunday June 9, 2024, 10 AM - 4 PM. Every year, Vermilionville celebrates the cultures of Acadiana that contributed so much to our unique folklife. Come back to Vermilionville in June for the return of our Créole Culture Day event!  On this day we recognize and honor our region’s Créole heritage. So much of our food, traditions, and music comes to our region from the Créole culture, and on this day we both demonstrate and celebrate its many contributions to our contemporary folklife. LA Folk Roots Summer Camp

Bonjour! Folk Roots Kids Camps offer an unparalleled team of gifted artist/instructors for a fun-filled week of music, crafts, singing, and very special activities for ages 8-13. The registration fee includes all activities, craft supplies, classes, morning biscuit, lunch, afternoon snack, and a camp T-shirt. Daily lunch is INCLUDED in the registration fee. Acadiana Brew HaHa

Come on in for Acadiana Brew Haha, an event that is all about the history and culture of beer and brewing in Louisiana! We've got so many great beers coming from right here at home, including several new breweries that have just opened in the past few years. Acadiana Brew Haha is designed to give you a taste of what's brewing right here at home and meet some of the people that make the magic happen -- even brews from our very own Vermilionville Brewhouse. We'll hold the official ribbon cutting for the Brewhouse at 12 noon during the festivities. Acadiana Brew Haha includes our region's craft, micro, nano, and homebrewers, and you to see what's on tap in Louisiana! This year, look for Bayou Teche Brewing, Gnarly Barley, Adopted Dog Brewery, and Agile Brewing as well as home brewers coming in from the Dead Yeast Society. Redstick Brewmasters and beyond! Acadian Culture Day 2024

The community is invited to join the Bayou Vermilion District’s Vermilionville to celebrate our annual Acadian Culture Day on Sunday, August 11th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.  Join us for a family-friendly day of live music, great food, art, cooking, storytelling, spinning and weaving, arts and crafts, and other demonstrations. Bayou Fest & Boat Parade

Save the date for one of the best days on the bayou all year ’round! Gather your friends, your canoe, your cooler, your fiddle, your best costumes, your dog, whatever, and get ready to join us for a day to celebrate the Bayou Vermilion! This is going to be a great time on the water, and we want you to come a be a part of it. The parade will set sail at 11:30 AM from the dock at Vermilionville, and wind all along the bayou to Southside Park. We'll have music all the way down the bayou, and of course costume, shore party and boat decorating contests! At the park, we’ll have food and drinks, games, and music! Want to paddle but have no boat? The BVD has got you covered. We’ve got canoes and kayaks available to help you get in the water and experience our own Bayou Vermilion. Each vessel you rent from us comes with two registrations for paddlers. We'll also have a shuttle in the morning so you can drop off your gear and vessel at Vermilionville, then park at Southside Park and ride back to the Vermilionville dock! Boo Bayou Family Friendly Halloween Event

Boo Bayou is back!  Join us at Vermilionville for a fun fall festival for the family! There will be plenty to keep your squad busy including old-time games, face painting, and more! We`ll have a coloring station and trick-or-treating throughout our historic village. We'll also be showing some great kid-friendly spooooky films in our Performance Center, where you can pick up a fresh bag of popcorn. In our cooking school, kids can grab bags to decorate their own Halloween treats! In the restaurant, we`ve got a spook-tacular menu lined up to match the spirit of the day. And of course, kids and adults alike are welcome to transform themselves into whomever they would like to be for the event. Make memories with your family and enjoy great photo opportunities at our Fall Photo Station (costumes are encouraged, not mandatory...but there might be an extra piece of candy in it for you!)
