Tommy McLain + CC Adcock – “I Ran Down Every (Sweet) Dream” A Leauxcal Live Record Release Event with Very Special Guests

Louisiana music hero Tommy McLain returns to his home state in celebration of his first new album in 40+ years 'I Ran Down Every Dream.' In a series of intimate duo shows with Grammy-nominated producer/protégé CC Adcock, McLain will bring the swamp pop sound he helped put on the map and "a voice that still sounds strong as ever" (MOJO) at 82 to New Orleans (September 7 and 8 at Hotel Peter and Paul), Lafayette (September 9 at Vermilionville) and Crowley (September 10 at the Grand Opera House of the South). Recently embarking on his first countrywide tour in decades and sharing stages with Elvis Costello and Nick Lowe (who both co-wrote with Tommy on 'I Ran Down Every Dream'), McLain fittingly comes back to where it all began as his new album becomes available across the globe.  Click here for tickets.

BVD’s Bayou Festival and Boat Parade

Save the date for one of the best days on the bayou all year 'round! Gather your friends, your canoe, your cooler, your fiddle, your best costumes, your dog, whatever, and get ready to join us for a day to celebrate the Bayou Vermilion! This is going to be a great time on the water, and we want you to come a be a part of it. The parade will set sail at 11:30 AM from the dock at Vermilionville, and wind all along the bayou to Southside Park. At the park, we'll have food and drinks, games, and music! More details to come. Want to paddle but have no boat? The BVD has got you covered. We've got canoes and kayaks available to help you get in the water and experience our own Bayou Vermilion! Les Mains Guidées — Dìa de los Muertos Doll Workshop

Les Mains Guidées returns, with a fabulous "VoodooHoodoo" Doll workshop from artist extraordinaire, Kate Ferry. Come make your own Dìa de los Muertos doll (La Calavera Catrina) and learn the story of these dolls, prominent in Mexican culture as part of a multi-day celebration of friends and family who have died. All materials and supplies will be furnished to fashion a colorful work of art for you and your family to enjoy. Workshop attendees age 14 and up!
