The Premiere of the Vermilionville Pétanque Court

La Boule Cadienne de Lafayette Pétanque Club and Vermilionville invite all to attend when we throw out the first boules ever thrown at the Vermilionville Courts. Tim Ramier, a donor who gave the first major donation matched by Vermilionville to provide the building materials for the court, will be in attendance. After throwing out the first boules, we will have some friendly pétanque games. There will be music, food, and general merriment.

The public can enjoy a FREE FESTIVAL at Vermilionville for the 22nd annual Créole Culture Celebration on Sunday June 9, 2024, 10 AM - 4 PM. Every year, Vermilionville celebrates the cultures of Acadiana that contributed so much to our unique folklife. Come back to Vermilionville in June for the return of our Créole Culture Day event!  On this day we recognize and honor our region’s Créole heritage. So much of our food, traditions, and music comes to our region from the Créole culture, and on this day we both demonstrate and celebrate its many contributions to our contemporary folklife. Bayou Vermilion District & Vermilionville host the Bal du Dimanche (Sunday Dance) EVERY WEEK (may be pre-empted by private events). This live music series is held in Vermilionville’s Performance Center and rustic dancehall from 1-4 p.m. Admission is $10 and includes a self-guided tour of the Vermilionville Living History Museum.Come early and grab lunch at Vermilionville’s restaurant, La Cuisine de Maman. The restaurant is open every Sunday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and features authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine.
