La Boule Cadienne de Lafayette Pétanque Club and Vermilionville invite all to attend when we throw out the first boules ever thrown at the Vermilionville Courts. Tim Ramier, a donor who gave the first major donation matched by Vermilionville to provide the building materials for the court, will be in attendance. After throwing out the first boules, we will have some friendly pétanque games. There will be music, food, and general merriment.

The public can enjoy a FREE FESTIVAL at Vermilionville for the 22nd annual Créole Culture Celebration on Sunday June 9, 2024, 10 AM - 4 PM. Every year, Vermilionville celebrates the cultures of Acadiana that contributed so much to our unique folklife. Come back to Vermilionville in June for the return of our Créole Culture Day event! On this day we recognize and honor our region’s Créole heritage. So much of our food, traditions, and music comes to our region from the Créole culture, and on this day we both demonstrate and celebrate its many contributions to our contemporary folklife. Bonjour! Folk Roots Kids Camps offer an unparalleled team of gifted artist/instructors for a fun-filled week of music, crafts, singing, and very special activities for ages 8-13. The registration fee includes all activities, craft supplies, classes, morning biscuit, lunch, afternoon snack, and a camp T-shirt. Daily lunch is INCLUDED in the registration fee. Come on in for Acadiana Brew Haha, an event that is all about the history and culture of beer and brewing in Louisiana! We've got so many great beers coming from right here at home, including several new breweries that have just opened in the past few years. Acadiana Brew Haha is designed to give you a taste of what's brewing right here at home and meet some of the people that make the magic happen -- even brews from our very own Vermilionville Brewhouse. We'll hold the official ribbon cutting for the Brewhouse at 12 noon during the festivities. Acadiana Brew Haha includes our region's craft, micro, nano, and homebrewers, and you to see what's on tap in Louisiana! This year, look for Bayou Teche Brewing, Gnarly Barley, Adopted Dog Brewery, and Agile Brewing as well as home brewers coming in from the Dead Yeast Society. Redstick Brewmasters and beyond! The community is invited to join the Bayou Vermilion District’s Vermilionville to celebrate our annual Acadian Culture Day on Sunday, August 11th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Join us for a family-friendly day of live music, great food, art, cooking, storytelling, spinning and weaving, arts and crafts, open hearth cooking and other demonstrations. Here are some of the highlights you can expect: • Spinning • Quilting • Dance Lessons • The storytelling of Cajun music • Basket weaving • Grand Pre -video • The Tintamarre Parade • Cooking Demonstrations • Local Artist Demonstrations • The Acadian Cultural Preservation Award • Live Cajun Music all day Food and beverage available for purchase.
