Bayou Vermilion District & Vermilionville host the Bal du Dimanche (Sunday Dance) EVERY WEEK.  This live music series is held in Vermilionville’s Performance Center and rustic dancehall from 1-4 p.m.  Admission is $10 and includes a self-guided tour of the Vermilionville Living History museum. Come early and grab lunch at Vermilionville’s restaurant, La Cuisine de Maman.  The restaurant is open every Sunday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and features authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine. On Sundays, the restaurant features an all-you-can-eat Sunday buffet. Vermilion Voyage March 22-24

Lafayette Travel and the Bayou Vermilion District have partnered to create the Vermilion Voyage, a three-day overnight paddle down the Bayou Vermilion launching from the Acadiana Park Nature Station to Palmetto Island State Park. Participants will have the rare opportunity to consecutively paddle just over 50 miles of the Vermilion through Lafayette and Vermilion Parishes. Registration for the event is $350 and includes paddle craft, life jacket, guide, shuttle service, insurance costs, breakfast, lunch, and dinner with some beverages as well as evening entertainment. Participants are encouraged to bring their own water, snacks, and other essentials they may need for the trip). A full checklist of suggested supplies will be made available closer to the event date. NOTE: Please note, while this voyage is considered a Class I (paddler is familiar with basic strokes and can handle a tandem canoe competently in flat water) please take into consideration the daily mileage. The Premiere of the Vermilionville Pétanque Court

La Boule Cadienne de Lafayette Pétanque Club and Vermilionville invite all to attend when we throw out the first boules ever thrown at the Vermilionville Courts. Tim Ramier, a donor who gave the first major donation matched by Vermilionville to provide the building materials for the court, will be in attendance. After throwing out the first boules, we will have some friendly pétanque games. There will be music, food, and general merriment.

Créole Culture Day Celebration

The public can enjoy a FREE FESTIVAL at Vermilionville for the 22nd annual Créole Culture Celebration on Sunday June 9, 2024, 10 AM - 4 PM. Every year, Vermilionville celebrates the cultures of Acadiana that contributed so much to our unique folklife. Come back to Vermilionville in June for the return of our Créole Culture Day event!  On this day we recognize and honor our region’s Créole heritage. So much of our food, traditions, and music comes to our region from the Créole culture, and on this day we both demonstrate and celebrate its many contributions to our contemporary folklife.
