    Bayou Vermilion District & Vermilionville host the Bal du Dimanche (Sunday Dance) EVERY WEEK (may be pre-empted by private events.)  This live music series is held in Vermilionville’s Performance Center and rustic dancehall from 1-4 p.m.  Admission is $10 and includes a self-guided tour of the Vermilionville Living History Museum. Come early and grab lunch at Vermilionville’s restaurant, La Cuisine de Maman.  The restaurant is open every Sunday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and features authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine. On Sundays, the restaurant features an all-you-can-eat Sunday buffet.     The public can enjoy a FREE FESTIVAL at Vermilionville for the 23nd annual Créole Culture Celebration on Sunday June 8, 2025, 10 AM - 4 PM. Every year, Vermilionville celebrates the cultures of Acadiana that contributed so much to our unique folklife. Come back to Vermilionville in June for the return of our Créole Culture Day event!  On this day we recognize and honor our region’s Créole heritage. So much of our food, traditions, and music comes to our region from the Créole culture, and on this day we both demonstrate and celebrate its many contributions to our contemporary folklife.     Vermilionville will host our 15th Annual Summer Camp Series. Each week is custom-crafted for each age group and language in order to provide skill-level appropriate demonstrations and hands-on craft opportunities for your camper! Camp will start every morning at 8:45 AM (morning drop-off begins at 8:30 AM) and end at 4 PM. Friday we will finish at 1:30 PM, following the family lunch and end of camp ceremony. We will also provide the campers with breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack from our restaurant, La Cuisine de Maman. This summer camp is designed for children between the ages 5-12. All campers are required to have completed kindergarten or a home-school equivalent. Throughout the week, campers will learn about the many things that make Acadiana so unique!
