Acadian Culture Day 2023


The community is invited to join the Bayou Vermilion District’s Vermilionville to celebrate our annual Acadian Culture Day on Sunday, August 13th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.  Join us for a family-friendly day of live music, great food, art, cooking, storytelling, spinning and weaving, arts and crafts, open hearth cooking and other demonstrations. Here are some of the highlights you can expect: • Spinning • Quilting • Dance Lessons • Cajun Prairie preservation and restoration • Accordions – Craig Vincent • Traditions of the Traiteur – Colby Hebert • The art of Marne Meynig • The art of Steve Seneca • The storytelling of Cajun music • Basket weaving • Grand Pre -video • The Tintamarre Parade • Cooking Demonstrations • Local Artist Demonstrations • The Acadian Cultural Preservation Award • music from Jace Goulas & the Breaux Bridge Aces, and Bonsoir Catin Food and beverage available for purchase.  Admission is free.  For more information about Acadian Culture Day call (337) 233-4077.
