Family Francophone Day

Parlez-vous Français? Even if you answer ‘un peu’, you’ll have fun at our Family Francophone Day! There’ll be great opportunities for your family to practice your French, expand your vocabulaire, and immerse yourself in everything French. We’ll play Pétanque and other jeux Français. There will be French tours of the village, music, poetry readings, crafts and more! Here’s the schedule for the day:

9 AM “Early Bird” French Table
10:00 Community booths to include CREOLE Inc, CODOFIL, Alliance Francaise
10:30 Rag Doll craft in l’Ecole Cuisine. Rosary in Louisiana French in the Chapel
11:00 1-hour tour in French
11:30 Poetry, readings, and songs in the Performance Center (including Barry Ancelet, Gracie Babineaux, Arnauld Leclerq
(from Belgium) et al.
12:00 1-hour tour in French
12:00 Cooking demonstration in l’Ecole Cuisine -Chef Agnes Cappello
1:00 – 3:00 Cajun Jam
1:00 1-hour tour in French
2:00 1-hour tour in French
2:00 Rag Doll craft in l’Ecole Cuisine
3:00 1-hour tour in French (meet at the Pavilion)
4:00 Day Closes

In addition, Pétanque will be played in the Festival area, traditional games will be played in French all day, in addition to Cajun storytelling and music. Diners ordering and conversing in French will get 10% off their déjeuner in La Cuisine de Maman!
