Common Ground Residency

The Coco Tribe of Canneci Tinne will be in residence at the Native American Common Ground at Vermilionville Saturday, May 28, 2022. This organization was formed by the descendants of the Coco Tribe that inhabited the Prairie Maronne and Bayou Tortue area of St. Martin Parish and Lafayette Parish, living on the border of the two parishes which was called Attakapas in the 1800s. Créole Culture Day (with Schedule)

The public can enjoy a FREE FESTIVAL at Vermilionville for the 20th annual Creole Culture Celebration on Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 10AM - 5PM.  We'll celebrate with live music, cooking demonstrations, juré performances, storytelling, kids’ crafts, art, museum, and photography exhibits, Zydeco dance lessons, genealogy experts, traiteur garden tours, documentaries, and much more! Acadian Culture Day

The community is invited to join the Bayou Vermilion District’s Vermilionville to celebrate our 20th annual Acadian Culture Day on Sunday, August 15th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.   Live music, tintamarre parade,art, cooking, accordion construction and repair, spinning and weaving, wood carving, open hearth cooking and other demonstrations.
