Come early and grab lunch at Vermilionville’s restaurant, La Cuisine de Maman.  The restaurant is open every Sunday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and features authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine. Louisiana music hero Tommy McLain returns to his home state in celebration of his first new album in 40+ years 'I Ran Down Every Dream.' In a series of intimate duo shows with Grammy-nominated producer/protégé CC Adcock, McLain will bring the swamp pop sound he helped put on the map and "a voice that still sounds strong as ever" (MOJO) at 82 to New Orleans (September 7 and 8 at Hotel Peter and Paul), Lafayette (September 9 at Vermilionville) and Crowley (September 10 at the Grand Opera House of the South). Recently embarking on his first countrywide tour in decades and sharing stages with Elvis Costello and Nick Lowe (who both co-wrote with Tommy on 'I Ran Down Every Dream'), McLain fittingly comes back to where it all began as his new album becomes available across the globe.  Click here for tickets.

BVD’s Bayou Festival and Boat Parade

Save the date for one of the best days on the bayou all year 'round! Gather your friends, your canoe, your cooler, your fiddle, your best costumes, your dog, whatever, and get ready to join us for a day to celebrate the Bayou Vermilion! This is going to be a great time on the water, and we want you to come a be a part of it. The parade will set sail at 11:30 AM from the dock at Vermilionville, and wind all along the bayou to Southside Park. At the park, we'll have food and drinks, games, and music! More details to come. Want to paddle but have no boat? The BVD has got you covered. We've got canoes and kayaks available to help you get in the water and experience our own Bayou Vermilion! New Year’s Eve Dance with Geno Delafose and French Rockin’ Boogie

Ring in the New Year with Geno Delafose and the French Rockin’ Boogie!  Don’t miss the biggest party of the year at Vermilionville with delicious food, drinks, and dancing with Geno Delafose, New Year’s Eve at Vermilionville. Lobby opens at 8 p.m.  Doors open at 8:30 p.m. with music from 9:30 PM - 12:30 AM.  Food and beverage are available for purchase.  Admission is $35 per person and includes a complimentary glass of champagne at midnight. All funds from this annual event will go towards programs that promote and preserve local cultures in Acadiana. NOTE: No outside food or beverages are allowed in the Performance Center. This includes water bottles, so be aware. Also, no large bags or backpacks, unless subjected to search by security. No smoking within 25 feet of the Performance Center. Smoking is allowed in designated areas, with clearly marked receptacles for cigarette butts.
