Homeschool Days at Vermilionville
The last Wednesday on each month is Homeschool Day at Vermilionville -- homeschooling families get a discount on visits to the village! Come enjoy a self-guided tour and an optional rain garden tour (offered at 10 AM, 12 PM and 2 PM)Admission prices for Homeschool Day: age 5 - 17: $5; 18 -older $8.Just let the gift shop know you're a homeschooling family, and the discount will be applied!
Bayou Fest & Boat Parade 2025
Save the date for one of the best days on the bayou all year ’round! Gather your friends, your canoe, your cooler, your fiddle, your best costumes, your dog, whatever, and get ready to join us for a day to celebrate the Bayou Vermilion! This is going to be a great time on the water, and we want you to come a be a part of it. The parade will set sail at 11:30 AM from the dock at Vermilionville, and wind all along the bayou to Southside Park. We'll have music all the way down the bayou, and of course costume, shore party and boat decorating contests! A shorter paddle is also possible, ending at Camellia. Even if you stop paddling at Camellia, we encourage you to head down to Southside Park for Bayou Fest! At the park, we’ll have food and drinks, games, and music! Want to paddle but have no boat? The BVD has got you covered. We’ve got canoes and kayaks available to help you get in the water and experience our own Bayou Vermilion. Bal du Dimanche – Gerard Delafose & the Zydeco Gators
Bayou Vermilion District & Vermilionville host the Bal du Dimanche (Sunday Dance) EVERY WEEK (may be pre-empted by private events). This live music series is held in Vermilionville’s Performance Center and rustic dancehall from 1-4 p.m. Admission is $10 and includes a self-guided tour of the Vermilionville Living History Museum.Come early and grab lunch at Vermilionville’s restaurant, La Cuisine de Maman. The restaurant is open every Sunday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and features authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine. On Sundays, the restaurant features an all-you-can-eat Sunday buffet.Sunday, September 28: Gerard Delafose & the Zydeco GatorsAdmission to the Live Concert Series is included in your Bayou Vermilion District & Vermilionville membership.
