    Join us Monday, March 31 for Les Vues, our FREE film series. Our March selection is L'eau Est la Vie: From Standing Rock to the Swamp. The film features fierce Louisiana Indigenous women who are ready to fight-to stop the corporate blacksnake and preserve their way of life. They are risking everything to protect Mother Earth from the predatory fossil fuel companies that seek to poison it.

    Join us for our Les Vues FREE Film May selection, Hollow Tree. This documentary, directed by Kira Akerman, follows three teenagers coming of age in their sinking homeland of Louisiana. For the first time, they notice the Mississippi River’s engineering, stumps of cypress trees, and billowing smokestacks. Their different perspectives — as Indigenous, white, and Angolan young women — shape their story of the climate crisis.

  • Homeschoolers Boat Tour, August 27 10:30 AM

    Calling all homeschoolers, age 5 - adult! Come take a tour on the Cocodrie 2, Bayou Vermilion District's flat bottom boat. Learn all about the history, geology and environment of the Vermilion River. See the sights, flora and fauna (who knows, and a gator or two!) Spend an hour in the morning breezes with our boat captain, Mike Fowler, and Environmental Impact Director Lorr Stickles as your guides, August 27 at 10:30 AM. Life jackets must be worn, and will be provided. Maximum tour capacity: 25.
