Courir de Mardi Gras — Homeschool Program

The students experience the unique cultural traditions of a rural Cajun Mardi Gras celebration. Students will learn about the origins and history of “Courir de Mardi Gras.” They will learn to sing a traditional Mardi Gras song and design their very own Capuchon which they will don before going house to house, to perform the Mardi Gras song for gumbo ingredients. Wrap it all up with a gumbo lunch and slice of king cake for dessert! Top the day off with a goodie bag from the gift shop

Students age 5+, NO younger siblings allowed; spots available: 50

Student Ages 5+: $30, includes admission into the village, “mardi gras run,” capuchon craft, gumbo lunch, king cake dessert, refreshments as well as a gift from the gift shop.

Adults: $26, includes admission into village, gumbo lunch, king cake dessert and refreshments!
