Candi & Friends Adventure to Vermilionville

Join us for Stories, Dance & Weaving followed by a boat tour on the Cocodrie 2!

Stories, Dance & Weaving 10 AM – 12 PM

Students will listen to Native American stories passed down through generations, learn the lively snake dance, create their own woven craft basket as well as a take home gift from La Boutique! A fun, hands-on journey through culture, movement, and tradition!

Boat Tour 1 PM – 2 PM

The Cocodrie 2 is Bayou Vermilion District’s flat bottom boat. Learn all about the history, geology and environment of the Vermilion River. See the sights, flora and fauna (who knows, and a gator or two!) Spend an hour in the morning breezes with our boat captain, Mike Fowler, and Ivy Broussard as your guides.

Life jackets must be worn and will be provided for adults and children over 30 lbs. Children 3 and older are permitted to ride on the boat, but  they MUST be at least 18 pounds with an approved USCG life jacket. We have a few life jackets for children above 30 pounds. All children must counted in the ticket numbers (limited space on our boat…) If they do not qualify for the 30-pound limit, we have a few life jackets for 18-30 pounds but it is recommended you bring your own USCG- approved life jacket for them.
