Bonjour!

Vermilionville will be hosting our 10th Annual Summer Camp Series in just a few short months! Each week is custom-crafted for each age group and language in order to provide skill-level appropriate demonstrations and hands-on craft opportunities for your camper!

Week 2: English; Ages 9-12: June 28 – July 2

Camp will start every morning at 8:45 AM (morning drop-off begins at 8:30 AM) and end at 4 PM. Friday we will finish at 1:30 PM, following the family lunch and end of camp ceremony. We will also provide the campers with breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack from our restaurant, La Cuisine de Maman.

Daily Menu & Events

This summer camp is designed for children between the ages 5-12. All campers are required to have completed kindergarten or a home-school equivalent. Throughout the week, campers will learn about the many things that make Acadiana so unique.

For each week, the students will have an opportunity to:

  • Explore our historic village and learn about what life was like for the Acadians, Native Americans, and Creoles and people of African descent during our time period of 1765-1890.
  • Learn about our natural resources including plants, animals, nature, and the bayous and water-ways of south Louisiana by canoeing, fishing, and more.
  • Get to an opportunity work with our artisans and musicians to learn about their crafts and history. Each day, campers will partake in hands-on projects that they will take home with them at the end of the week. We will do some favorites from past years, such  as blacksmithing and tomahawk throwing, as well as lots of exciting, new activities!
  • They will record their activities over the week in their very own hand-made journal.

The week will end with a celebration day for parents and siblings (12:00-1:30 PM on Friday).

The registration fee covers all materials associated with hands-on crafts, as well as food, a camp T-shirt, and a water bottle. If your child has any dietary restrictions, please indicate this to us on the registration form. We recommend that campers wear comfortable clothes and bring a beach towel, mosquito repellant, sunscreen, a hat and a change of clothes.

The total cost for each week is $250 per camper. Additional siblings who register for camp will receive a $50 discount off the final balance. There is a required deposit of $100 upon registration.

There is a $3 charge to pay online.
