BEGINNERS’ CANOE/KAYAK LESSONS

This class is geared towards paddlers who have never been in a canoe or kayak and would like to venture into the world of paddling. This class will cover the basics of maintaining safety, stability while entering & exiting the canoe or kayak, as well as, basic paddle strokes and techniques for maneuvering and propelling your vessel.

This class will take place in the still water of the BVD Retention Pond where paddlers can practice their paddle strokes in the safety of our pond.

• The cost is $12 per person, which covers our vessel and equipment rental and guide fees. Capacity is set at 12 per class.
• Class times are 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
• We will meet at Vermilionville (300 Fisher Road, Lafayette, LA 70508).

*Reservations must be made at least 24 hours prior to paddle date.

Offered on the second Saturday of every month, April through October.
