    The public can enjoy a FREE FESTIVAL at Vermilionville for the 23nd annual Créole Culture Celebration on Sunday June 8, 2025, 10 AM - 4 PM. Every year, Vermilionville celebrates the cultures of Acadiana that contributed so much to our unique folklife. Come back to Vermilionville in June for the return of our Créole Culture Day event!  On this day we recognize and honor our region’s Créole heritage. So much of our food, traditions, and music comes to our region from the Créole culture, and on this day we both demonstrate and celebrate its many contributions to our contemporary folklife.     Bayou Fest & Boat Parade 2025

    Save the date for one of the best days on the bayou all year ’round! Gather your friends, your canoe, your cooler, your fiddle, your best costumes, your dog, whatever, and get ready to join us for a day to celebrate the Bayou Vermilion! This is going to be a great time on the water, and we want you to come a be a part of it. The parade will set sail at 11:30 AM from the dock at Vermilionville, and wind all along the bayou to Southside Park. We'll have music all the way down the bayou, and of course costume, shore party and boat decorating contests! A shorter paddle is also possible, ending at Camellia. Even if you stop paddling at Camellia, we encourage you to head down to Southside Park for Bayou Fest! At the park, we’ll have food and drinks, games, and music! Want to paddle but have no boat? The BVD has got you covered. We’ve got canoes and kayaks available to help you get in the water and experience our own Bayou Vermilion.   • FREE Native American Culture Day

    Native American Culture Day is slated for Saturday, November 22, 2025, 10 AM – 4 PM at Vermilionville. It’s a FREE festival with family-friendly events, demonstrations, cultural exhibits and much more. Throughout the day, there will be dancing and drumming, music demonstrations, cultural and craft displays, storytelling, tomahawk throwing, crafts for the family, and more.     Le Bal du Dimanche December 28 — Lil’ Pookie and the Zydeco Sensations

    Vermilionville - Performance Center

    Bayou Vermilion District & Vermilionville host the Bal du Dimanche (Sunday Dance) EVERY WEEK.  This live music series is held in Vermilionville’s Performance Center and rustic dancehall from 1-4 p.m.  Admission is $10 and includes a self-guided tour of the Vermilionville Living History museum. Come early and grab lunch at Vermilionville’s restaurant, La Cuisine de Maman.  The restaurant is open every Sunday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and features authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine. On Sundays, the restaurant features an all-you-can-eat Sunday buffet. Le Bal du Dimanche is broadcast live on KRVS Public Media 1-3 PM.
