SUMMARY:Creole Culture Day Celebration
DESCRIPTION:The public can enjoy a FREE TWO-DAY FESTIVAL at Vermilionville for the 19th annual Creole Culture Celebration on Saturday\, June 5 and Sunday\, June 6 from 10AM-5PM.  Live music with Cedric Watson & Bijou Creole on Saturday and Corey Ledet on Sunday; cooking demonstrations; juré performances; storytelling; Creole language panel discussions; kids’ crafts; art\, museum\, and photography exhibits; Zydeco dance lessons; genealogy experts; traiteur garden tours; documentaries; The Knights of Peter Claver; and much more! \nFood and beverage will be available for purchase.  Admission is free.  For more information call 337-233-4077 or visit the Vermilionville Facebook page. \nEvery year\, Vermilionville celebrates the cultures of Acadiana that contributed so much to our unique folklife. Come back to Vermilionville in June for the return of our Creole Culture Day event!  On this day we recognize and honor our region’s Creole heritage. So much of our food\, traditions\, and music comes to our region from the Creole culture\, and on this day we both demonstrate and celebrate its many contributions to our contemporary folklife. \nWith our partners at Creole Inc\, and support from the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities\, Lafayette Consolidated Government\, the Bayou Vermilion District\, and the Vermilionville Living History Museum Foundation\, this year’s celebration of the Creole culture and history is expanding into a TWO DAY format. With panels and presentations in the mornings\, and music in the afternoons\, this is an event not to be missed.  We’ll have food\, music\, history\, crafts\, dance\, art and many other fascinating parts of the Creole story in our festival area and spread through our historic village.

SUMMARY:Sunday Concert Series:  Beau Bayou
DESCRIPTION:Bayou Vermilion District & Vermilionville host a live concert series on the 1st\, 3rd\, and 5th Sundays of each month.  The concert series is held in Vermilionville’s Performance Center venue from 1-4 p.m.  Admission is $10 and includes a self-guided tour of the Vermilionville Living History museum. \nCome early and grab lunch at Vermilionville’s restaurant\, La Cuisine de Maman.  The restaurant is open every Sunday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and features authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine.
